you know an evening is going to go well when you bike down to the venue nice and early with enough time to get ruffle’s ‘hot wings’ flavoured chips and a ‘monster’ energy drink.

djing in a pub/lounge type place is always strange as there’s no dance floor. deadbeat, however is a nice treat as the crowd generally wants pretty much any kind of sub/counter culture tunage they can get. and that’s what we gave them. and they’re not picky on decade either. its a no frills affair. everyone’s usually there for a good time and there’s way less bullshit than other evenings. i think people go to dead.beat for a good time more than to support friends like some other parties around town.

after brooklynn we headed over to korea town making sure to spit and pee on car door handles/windows and generally be obnoxious along the way in the wee hours of the night. our bikes took us to a never-disappointing 24hr korean diner that fed us to the max and including a generous tip was under 20 bones. not too shabby. knowing the day and subsequent evening ahead (including actual responsibilities mixed with gallery time and dance parties) we called it a night. oh what a night.
