golden filter are a new yawk based duo with all the quirkiness and cuteness as the disposable ting tings. ‘solid gold’ was their first single i believe released more than a year ago. it still hits the spot for me whether i’m lifting weights or a footlong sub. they have a new single made 2 years after ‘solid gold’ entitled ‘hide me’ which sounds pretty much like a poor man’s ‘solid gold’. i’m not sure why it doesn’t bother me as much as it should, maybe it’s because they sound like an updated version of my nostalgic favourites such as portishead/moloko/smoke city/sneakerpimps…
